Palermo is an unmissable stop during a trip to Sicily and it is certainly worth dedicating at least a couple of days to it. After having visited the most important places, it is possible to explore the surroundings: in fact, the city enjoys a very favorable geographical position and it is possible to make many day trips in the surroundings.
These are the three guided excursions that we do most often, but on request we can organize many other activities that combine nature and culture.
Here are some examples:
- The Zingaro reserve: a protected area in the province of Trapani located between Scopello and San Vito Lo Capo. Famous for its trails, its beaches and the crystal clear color of the sea.
- The Valley of the Temples in Agrigento: two hours by car from Palermo, it too is an unmissable place if you make a trip to Sicily. Since 1997 is part of the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Among almond and olive trees excel the temples, and among all, the temple of Concordia, one of the best preserved Doric temples in the whole Mediterranean area.
- Mozia: the island where the Phoenicians lived, in front of the coast of Marsala. A very fascinating place both from the archaeological and historical point of view and from the naturalistic one.
- Mazara del Vallo: with its Kasbah the wonderful bronze statue of the dancing satyr.
